The pond holds 225,000 litres of water and is situated on a podium on the roof of a block of mixed commercial and residential flats. It was built to encourage biodiversity, harvest rainwater and improve the landscape.
The pond was initially filled by a fire hydrant and will be topped up by rainwater.
Kingcombe Aquacare were contracted by John Sisk & Sons.
Materials used include Firestone EDPM liner and OASE filtration equipment, as well as gabion baskets filled with gravel and coir matting to put the plants in.
